Pay Scale

Rs. 9300-34,800 ( PB-2) plus Rs. 4600 (Grade Pay) (Total emoluments excluding T.A. HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs. 35,480/-p.m. approximately as on 01.07.2014)

Age

Not exceeding 30 years for General candidates as on normal closing date for General category candidates. Not exceeding 35 years for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates and not exceeding 33 years for Other Backward Classes as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for Government servants upto five years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government.’ 

Essential Qualificaiton (s)

A. EDUCATIONAL Degree in Law of a recognized University.

Note-I The qualifications are relaxable at Commission’s discretion in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

Note-II The qualification regarding experience are relaxable at Commission’s discretion in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Physically Handicapped in respect of posts reserved for them, if at any stage of selection, the Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the posts reserved for them.  

Duty(ies) 

Responsible for conducting the prosecution of cases in the courts. Attend to matters arising of or pertaining to court cases/references. To give legal advice in respect of cases investigated by the Branch. To attend to other works as prescribed by the Department from time to time.

Probation

Two years.

Head Quarter

CBI’s Head Quarter at Delhi. However, candidates are liable to serve anywhere in India.
