Pay Scale


Rs. 15600-39100/- plus Rs. 5400/- (Grade Pay) with (DA) 107 percent.

Age


Not exceeding 35 years as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 40 years for Scheduled Castes and not exceeding 38 years for Other Backward Classes Candidates in respect of vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central / U.T., Government Servant up to Five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time. Essential Qualificaiton (s)


A. EDUCATIONAL

Degree in Mining Engineering or Chemical Engineering or Chemical Technology or Metallurgy from a recognized University or Institution or its equivalent.

OR

Master’s Degree in Geology or Ore-Dressing or Chemistry or Physics from a recognized University or Institution or its equivalent.

Note- Here word ‘Equivalent’ has been used for recognized University or Institution and not for educational qualification. No other qualification may be treated as equivalent qualification to the above mentioned qualifications.

B-EXPERIENCE


Three years experience in well Equipped Laboratory or Pilot Plant conducing Ore Dressing or Mineral beneficiation/Mineral agglomeration work.

A well Equipped Laboratory may be defined as a laboratory recognized as a research laboratory by (a) Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)/Department of Science and Technology(DST) or any other such Government Organisation or (b) by a University, for the purpose of accepting the work of research scholar for grant of Ph.D.

A Pilot Plant may be defined as a small industrial system, which is operated to generate information about the behaviour of the system for use in design of larger facilities.

Note-1 The qualifications are relaxable at the Commission’s discretion in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

Note-2 The qualification (s) regarding experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of Union Public Service Commission in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, if at any stage of selection, the Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the posts reserved for them.
Desirable Qualificaiton (s)

i) Postgraduate Degree in Engineering subject concerned or Doctorate Degree in Geology Ore Dressing or Physics or Chemistry from a recognized University.
ii) Working knowledge of computer with special emphasis on commonly used software in offices.

Duty(ies)


To carry out various experience on beneficiation of low grade ores and minerals both on laboratory and pilot plant scale. Also Chemical and Physical operations in connection with the development process involving the usage of mineral raw materials required in various industries devising techniques for various mineral production. Any other duties assigned by the Controller General or any other officer authorised by him.

Probation


One year.

Head Quarter


Nagpur with liability to serve anywhere in India.

Other Details


General Central Service, Group ‘A, Gazetted (Non-Ministerial). The posts are permanent.
