Pay Scale


PAY SCALE Rs. 15,600-39,100 ( PB-3) plus Rs. 5400 (Grade Pay) (DA) 107 percent , (Total emoluments excluding T.A. and HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs. 44470/- p.m. plus DA as applicable approximately)

Age

Essential Qualificaiton (s)


A. EDUCATIONAL
Master’s Degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Economics or Degree in Mining Engineering from a recognised University or equivalent.
Note Here word ‘Equivalent’ has been used for deemed university or institution and not for educational qualification. No other qualification be treated as equivalent to the above mentioned qualifications.

B. Experience.
Three years experience in resources appraisal, market survey and investigation of economic aspect of mineral resources and production and utilization of minerals.

Note-I The qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of Union Public Service Commission in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

Note-II The qualification regarding experience are relaxable at Commission’s discretion in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes in respect of posts reserved for them, if at any stage of selection, the Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the posts reserved for them.


Desirable Qualificaiton (s)


(i) Master’s Degree in Mining Engineering/Doctorate Degree in Applied Geology/ Geology/ Mineralogy/ Economics preferably in Mineral Economics from a recognised university or equivalent.
(ii) Degree in Statistics.
(iii) Working knowledge of computers with special emphasis on commonly used software in office.

Duty(ies)


(i) Collection, Compilation, tabulation, processing and analysis of data for market survey and various publications.
(ii) Preparation of notes and comments to references on mines, minerals and metals.
(iii) Updating of National Mineral Inventory.
(iv) Preparation of Directory of Mining Leases.
(v) Preparation of reports on royalty, taxation, legal framework etc.

Certificate of competency of marine engineer officer class-I (steam or Motor or Combined Steam and Motor) as specified in section 78 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 (44 of 1958) or equivalent as specified in section 86 of the said Act and five year’s service at sea of which one year service as Chief Engineer or Second Engineer.

A well Equipped Laboratory may be defined as a laboratory recognized as a research laboratory by (a) Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)/Department of Science and Technology(DST) or any other such Government Organisation or (b) by a University, for the purpose of accepting the work of research scholar for grant of Ph.D.

A Pilot Plant may be defined as a small industrial system, which is operated to generate information about the behaviour of the system for use in design of larger facilities.

Note-1 The qualifications are relaxable at the Commission’s discretion in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

Note-2 The qualification (s) regarding experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of Union Public Service Commission in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, if at any stage of selection, the Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the posts reserved for them.

Twenty one years experience in guiding research in a laboratory or in a plant conducting Ore –Dressing or Mineral Beneficiation or Mineral Agglomeration work
